Twas The Week Before Christmas
This past week has been a whirlwind of teas, tinctures and tantrums.
Lots of lessons were learned as I was demoing the rig and turning it into a tiny home, the most important one being that when it’s 35* at night I should probably turn the heater on before actually settling for any length of time. It was cold! And if you know me, I am not a cold loving individual. Nope! In fact, I think I’m allergic to snow =)
Shed day brought back lots of memories too. Over the years I have collected so many things for my various booths, both large and small. Being a merchant has always been one of my favorite things, but the time has come to downsize and set aside just a few goodies, keeping the memories. Will I ever get back out there? Who knows, we’ll just have to see what 2021 has in store for us (wink wink).
One of the best dunce moves of the week came to boxes. Talk about a box blooper. Never have I ever run out of boxes. Not in 8 years! Not only did I run out my most popular size for regular shipping, it was the same size I use for my Tea Time Subscription box. Talk about a scramble to the Amazon gods of shipping! While I support small business as much as possible, getting those boxes bounced right up to the top of the list, the emergency “I have to get it now” list. Thank goodness they will be arriving later today and I can get back to boxing up those orders! You guys have been amazing to myself and my family and have certainly been taking advantage of the Blowout Sale this week. So many of goodies are already out the door and in the hands of our tea tribe <3
As for the Root 2 Route Botanicals product lines? We had over 120 different teas, 40 tinctures, 8 powders, and a whole host of other wonderful goodies in stock when Jerry and I got the word we were being relocated. Talk about a shocker! I knew not all of my herbs were going to be coming with us but I never actually thought about the process of cutting them off. Those are my babies! Lol
I will only have so much room to work with once we finish moving and so last weekend the decision-making process began. I have to admit, there may have been a few tantrums and tears but we made it through the list. Most of my blends will be archived but that doesn’t mean they are gone forever. They will be making cameo appearances next year and that makes my heart happy =) During the decision-making process, my poor Jerry tried to help, to comfort, to then run out the back door to safety lol.
AND: Just a reminder, with our relocation now underway, we have been working tirelessly this season and will soon be needing some time off before ramping up for an amazing 2021. We will be closed on the following days:
December 23 - 27, 2020 (Time for some Family & Friends catch up)
December 31, 2020 (Happy Anniversary my love!)
January 1-2, 2021 (OMG please let 2020 really be over)
Loving you all, Emily
